Zomato Renamed ‘Eternal’ – Board Approves Bold Move!
Zomato Renamed ‘Eternal’
On 6 February 2025, the food and grocery delivery service provider Zomato under “Eternal” gave the company a new name and logo as approved by the Board. This comes 2 years after the company started internally branding itself as “Eternal.”
Changing the name to “Eternal” is aimed at portraying the constant relevance of innovation and service Nationwide. While operating as “Eternal” expands the company’s scope and the promise to serve food delivery, their market position gets reinforced as well.
Zomato Brief History
In 2008, Deepinder Goyal started Zomato. Now its presence is in more than 1000 cities in India. Currently, this service operates far beyond just listing restaurants.
This is not the first time this company has changed its brand name. The company launched as FoodieBay in 2010, however, to broaden their scope beyond just a food-based brand, they decided to change their name to Zomato.
The Zomato app will not change its name, but the stock ticker will change from Zomato to Eternal. For now, Eternal will comprise four major businesses: Zomato, Blinkit, District, and Hyperpure.
Conclusion
To sustain growth, the change of Zomato to “Eternal” shows a transformative approach taken by the company. With this decision, Eternal will be aiming to break out of its previous constraints, allowing it to expand its scope of business far beyond just food delivery. The parent group will still consist of Zomato, Blinkit, District, and Hyperpure.
