An EPF calculator is an online tool that estimates the total amount you’ll receive from your Provident Fund (PF) when you retire. This amount includes both your and your employer’s contributions, plus the interest earned. To use the calculator, you need to enter:
Monthly or regular PF contributions
PF interest rate
How long you’ll contribute
How often you contribute
Financial Planning: It shows how much you'll have at retirement, helping you decide how much to save each month to meet your goals.
Effortless Tracking: It quickly adds up your total contributions and interest, so you don’t have to do the math yourself.
The formula to calculate the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) is as follows:
Employee's Contribution:
Employee contribution = 12% of Basic Salary + Dearness Allowance (DA)
Employer's Contribution:
Employer contribution = 12% of Basic Salary + Dearness Allowance (DA)
Out of this 12%, 8.33% goes to the Employee Pension Scheme (EPS) (with a cap of ₹15,000 on the salary component, meaning the maximum EPS contribution is ₹1,250).
The remaining 3.67% goes to the EPF.
Total Contribution:
Total EPF contribution = Employee contribution + Employer’s EPF contribution
